We swapped our cow for beans and climbed the beanstalk so that you don’t have to. We spoke to Jack, his mum, the giant and the giant’s wife and, working with them, we all identified eight evidence-based learning skills that have been proven by research to maximise learning. The giant called them his ‘golden eggs’ and said they were more valuable than the ones laid by his golden goose.

These eight EBL skills, which can be easily acquired by every giant or every child going to market with their cow regardless of ability, have been proven to lead to the highest level of learning because they combine the most effective thinking skills with the most productive learning skills.

At the end of every lesson, there is a five-minute evidence-based CPD activity for teachers grown from the beans that Jack had left over.
