On meeting Red Riding Hood in the woods we asked her what she had in her basket. She showed us the food that she had prepared for her grandmother. Very tasty it looked too but it was the lessons with the eight evidence-based learning skills proven by research to maximise learning that looked even tastier at the bottom of her basket. And, yes, she didn’t mind sharing these lessons as long as we helped her pick some more flowers for her grandmother.
These eight EBL skills, which can be easily acquired by every child wearing a red hoodie, woodcutter or wolf regardless of ability, have been proven to lead to the highest level of learning because they combine the most effective thinking skills with the most productive learning skills. Although Red Riding Hood was keen to tell us that she still preferred flowers!
At the end of every lesson, there is a five-minute evidence-based CPD activity for teachers which the wolf said was the only reason he was in Grandmother’s cottage in the first place. Mmmm.
